Tablespoons Quick Grits (such as Quaker White Hominy Quick Grits) |

cup milk |

Butter, salt, and pepper to taste |

INSTRUCTIONS
Combine grits, milk and water in a large bowl, stir. Microwave on high
for 1-2 minutes. Stir. Microwave for an additional 1-2 minutes, until
thickened and creamy (cooking times vary depending on microwave). Watch
closely during cooking so grits don't boil over (this is why I suggest a
large bowl). Add butter, salt and pepper to taste. Makes one serving.
(My very own adaptation of directions on quick grits box. I experimented
with this while on my mission until I got it the way I liked it. I
actually cooked it on the stove then since most missionary apartments
didn't have microwaves. Now that I enjoy a "real" kitchen, I have
adapted it to the microwave. My kids love grits this way.)
